Oldbury Plastics was the limited company name for AV Plastics and was our registered name until March 2014. Writing down the full name “Oldbury Plastics Ltd TA AV Plastics” just took too long so we decided to make it simply AV Plastics Ltd.
Oldbury Plastics was founded in the 1980s when Ted Torr who co-founded toolmakers “Torfield Engineering” decided to start his own injection moulding company. He decided to call it Oldbury Plastics because he lived in the small hamlet of Oldbury near Ightham. He worked in Lavender Hill in Tonbridge in his own small factory for fifteen years. When the owner of AV Plastics (Anthony Vidler) decided to retire in 2000, he bought and merged his business with AV Plastics.
